And the girl from OZ said, Speak to us of Summer...

And he answered: There is no such season in London my child.

Yes, it is all over I'm afraid. We're back down to around the 20 degree mark, so it lasted a whole 2 months - rrrrubish!

It's been a crazy whirlwind August for me. It started well with the Fruitstock Festival in Regents Park, another free outdoor Summer Festival with lots of great music and atmos. Ginny, Scott and I hung out and drank lots of Pimms and vodka on our picnic sarong, ending the night with dancing and singing our little hearts out to Arrested Development. They were unreal, took me right back, and of course they sung Mr Wendal to keep us all happy.

Then Dan, Ginny, Mel, I and a few others all went to see Xavier Rudd and Michael Franti with Spearhead play at the Carling Academy in Brixton. It was a brilliant night, lots and lots of aussies there to support gorgeous Xavier, we had an awesome night in a great great venue.

I caught up with Cliffy (Paul Chapman's dad) and his family for a picnic the next day up in Enfield, was nice to get out of London and meet some quality english folk. Funny to be meeting his family 9 years after we've broken up, the introductions as to who I was were interesting to say the least.

Then on Monday the 14th, I received one of those dreaded calls from home to be told that Shirley, who has been like a grandmother to me, passed away unexpectedly. The following night I was on a plane home for the funeral. I was only home for 6 days and had some very quiet family time. The sun shone for those days though, the weather was really beautiful. I got plenty of those much needed swims in down at Newport Beach, and hung out with my Monkey, Mol-girl and Mum.

So, I'm back home now and it's a long weekend thankfully, there's been lots of sleeping this weekend to catch up with myself.

Today Dan and I headed down to the Notting Hill Carnival for the day, it was like nothing I've ever seen in my life. It's a Caribbean festival that has been held on every August bank holiday weekend since 1966. I'll leave you with the photo's.

Mum is here next week and we've got 4 days in London seeing the sights before heading to Paris and Spain.

Will be in-touch with you all again soon.
